The Leading Edge - February 2024
Donate to Leadership Johnson County
Help Us Get Additional Funding
Here is another great reason to consider a gift to LJC: Our great friends at the Elba L. and Gene Portteus Branigin Foundation will match every donated dollar up to the first $15,000!
Also, Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett and Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers are additionally matching each contribution up to $4,000. So, a $30 donation today will turn into a $90 contribution to LJC.
You can contribute securely on our website. Please contact Tandy Shuck if you have any questions.
Welcome Cindy Erickson
Signature Program and Alumni Coordinator
Please join us in welcoming Cindy Erickson to our leadership team!
Cindy joined Leadership Johnson County in January after serving as a human resource professional for more than 25 years - most recently in the healthcare field. She completed her Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership and Design at the University of Indianapolis in 2022 and holds several certifications, including SHRM-CP, PHR, Everything DiSC and MBTI Practitioner.
She has been a Johnson County resident for 19 years, and she and her husband have three talented daughters. Her oldest daughter has completed her degree at Purdue University at Indianapolis, while her other two daughters are completing their undergraduate degrees at the University of Indianapolis.
Their family also includes four dogs and a cat, who bring so much joy and activity to their lives. Cindy enjoys working out, cooking, watching her favorite sports team and traveling when not with her family.
SEEKING NOMINATIONS
Signature Program
Do you remember when you got the letter or the email indicating that you had been nominated for LJC? Or do you remember how it felt when you received the acceptance packet? Those were incredible things to receive!
Now is the time to put someone on the path to getting that same great news.
To be eligible to participate in the LJC Signature Program, an applicant must either be a resident of Johnson County or must have worked or been active in the community for two years before the time of application.
We will begin this month by sending nominees emails to inform them you have nominated them. Applications will be due in March.
We do have fabulous logo jackets for the top recruiters.
Youth Leadership Academy
Do you know a high school student who would benefit from our Youth Leadership Academy? If you wish to recommend a candidate for our next class, please fill out the form. Applicants who are nominated will receive an application with a note regarding who nominated them for participation.
Our Youth Leadership Academy is a five-month program designed to bring together a select group of Johnson County High School students to learn more about their community and practice leadership skills in a fun learning environment.
